Ri-hua Xie is currently a director, chief-nurse and professor at Nanhai Hospital of the Southern Medical University, Guangdong China and an affiliate Scientist in the McLaughlin Centre for Population Health Risk Assessment, University of Ottawa, Canada.
With an exceptional perinatal nursing career spanning 30 years, Dr. Xie is respected as a clinician, researcher, and mentor. She is not satisfied with just the publication of her study findings and has taken initiatives to develop measures to solve practical problems based on her research work. Her efforts in health promotion have positive impacts on natural birth and breastfeeding. The innovative health education tools that her team developed have the potential to improve the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers and mothers. Dr. Xie is also devoted her professional attention to the important and impactful community services. The most recent example of such dedicated services is her leadership role in her regional efforts to control COVID-2019 pandemic.
Dr. Xie received her BSN, MSN and PhD from Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University, China and Postdoctoral Fellowship from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
