Kahlil Demonbreun is the Women’s Health Medical Director at the Columbia Veteran Affairs Health Care System in Columbia, South Carolina.
Throughout his greater than 30-year career he has consistently shattered the glass ceiling as a pioneer clinician which have garnered national accolades as “firsts”, and recognition as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He has demonstrated clinical excellence as a Med/Surg Gyn nurse, Antepartum/Postpartum/Newborn Nursery nurse, Labor & Delivery nurse, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Women’s Health Program Nurse Consultant for the state of South Carolina and Women’s Health Medical Director. He has developed service care models, educational programs, written national practice standards, position statements and state Board of Nursing advisory opinions.
Dr. Demonbreun is the American Association of Nurse Practitioners State Representative for South Carolina and serves as advisor on the national Health Policy Committee and member of the Fellows Selection Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Certification Corporation, is the immediate Past Chair for the South Carolina Board of Nursing’s Advanced Practice Committee and the immediate Past Chair for the South Carolina Nurses Association Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Chapter.
Dr. Demonbreun received his Diploma in Nursing from the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing, Bachelors of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science in Nursing degrees from the University of South Carolina, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the Medical University of South Carolina.
