Dr. Brysiewicz has devoted over two decades of her career to improving the care of trauma/emergency patients and their families via research, clinical practice, policy and education. She has partnered with other countries to create significant resources for emergency nurses.

As the communicating PI for Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health (USA) D43 Grant, her efforts are focused on inter-professional mentoring and research leadership development for young health researchers. Dr. Brysiewicz is the editor-in-chief for the International Emergency Nursing journal and also sits on several other editorial boards.

Dr. Brysiewicz received a BSocSc from University of Natal, B Arts from University of South Africa, MN from University of Natal and PhD from University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
