Juli McGowan Boit is the Founder and International Director of Living Room International (LRI) in Kenya.
Ms. Boit founded LRI in 2009 in an effort to advocate and address the holistic needs of seriously ill infants, children, adolescents, and adults and to provide life-giving and transformative refuge for thousands of people in Kenya. To date, LRI, a non-governmental organization (NGO) through its umbrella organizations, Kimbilio Hospice, LRI Hospital, Tumaini na Afya Home-Based Care and Kimbilio Funeral Home provides nursing and medical services to the most vulnerable in Kenya. Since its inception in 2009, LRI has provided care to over 6,000 patients at Kimbilio Hospice, LRI Hospital and Tumaini na Afya Home-Based Care. In addition, LRI has delivered bereavement support to over 600,000 family members and friends attending funeral services at the Kimbilio Funeral Home, since its inception in 2012.
Ms. Boit completed her BSN at Azusa Pacific University School of Nursing. She went on to obtain an MSN degree at California State University, Los Angeles and a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Palliative Care from Oxford Brooks University.
