Judith A. Boerger is Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive for Parkview Health System. She is responsible for nursing practice and quality outcomes at 11 hospitals, ambulatory clinics and 150 medical group practices. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at the Indiana University, School of Nursing-Fort Wayne and the 2020 President of the Indiana Center for Nursing.
As Chief Nursing Executive for a health system that encompasses northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, Ms. Boerger is recognized as a transformational leader in nursing practice. Her leadership in the formation of a Center for Nursing Excellence to promote research, standardization and integration of best nursing practice led 3500 Parkview nurses to a health system Magnet designation and many national recognitions for quality outcomes.
Ms. Boerger was instrumental in the development of innovative programs including the Emeritus Nurse program which encourages nurses entering retirement to continue in their practice through mentoring and contributing in a variety of practice settings. Her leadership and belief that nurses are valuable contributors on boards led to Parkview being chosen as a pilot for the Nurses on Boards program resulting in Parkview nurses serving in over 127 community boards across 16 counties.
Ms. Boerger received her MBA from Xavier University, Cincinnati and her MSN from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a Fellow of the Johnson and Johnson /Wharton Program for Nurse Executives and is also a 2017 American Hospital Association, National Patient Safety Foundation, now IHI, National Patient Safety Fellow.
